On Monday, September 23, 2019, Philadelphia 76ers Coach Brett Brown hosted his 5th Annual “Coach the Coaches” Clinic. The clinic was free and open to basketball coaches of all ages and levels (youth, high school, college), who had the opportunity to participate in an interactive clinic and learn directly from Coach Brown and his great Assistant Coaches Kevin Young and Ime Udoka.
The event has grown exponentially since its inception, as the number of coaches in attendance rose from 64 in 2015 to more than 1,200 this year. “It’s the second favorite thing I do,” Coach Brown told the 1,200 attendees, explaining that he feels the necessity to pass on information to fellow coaches and give back to the community.
This year, the 90-minute clinic included sessions from Coach Brown, Coach Young and Coach Udoka, with each focusing on a different concept and sharing some basic information on the Sixers philosophical approach to the game. The annual clinic is a part of the Brett Brown Coaches Circle initiative that provides outreach and resources to local basketball coaches.
